Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. As a child she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma decided to be an actor when she was six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing, dancing and acting. She had already performed in numerous Stagecoach and school productions before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theatre instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions, she as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The highest-grossing movie of 2001 it set new records for its debut day sales as well as opening weekend takings. Critics have praised both the film as well as the performances by the three young actors. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma later won five awards to honor her role in the film.
